Rosman Razak Returns to Coach Pearly and Thinaah

Rosman Razak has returned as the women’s doubles coach for the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM). He is focused on improving the performance of Malaysia’s top pair, Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah. The duo made a historic semi-final finish at the Paris Olympics, narrowly missing out on a medal. They were defeated by Japan’s world No. 4 pair, Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida, in the bronze medal playoff. Rosman is now preparing them for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Pearly and Thinaah have made it clear that they are not satisfied with their current achievements and want to reach even greater heights. Rosman shares their ambition, stating that his main goal is to help them secure medals at the upcoming World Championships, Asian Games, and eventually, the Olympics. Recently, Pearly and Thinaah have been in excellent form, winning the Hong Kong Open and finishing as runners-up in both the Korean and Arctic Opens.

Looking ahead, Rosman expects the competition to intensify. Several pairs have split and formed new partnerships after the Olympics. However, he is confident that Pearly and Thinaah can rise to the challenge, provided they continue to work hard and stay focused.

For the remainder of the year, Pearly and Thinaah will compete in three major tournaments: Japan Masters (Nov 12-17), China Masters (Nov 19-24) and season ending World Tour Finals (Dec 11-15). Rosman plans to closely monitor their physical condition over the next few days. He will make any necessary adjustments to their tournament schedule based on his observations. At this point, he confirmed that they will participate in all three events unless changes are required.
