Malaysia is guaranteed at least four doubles pairs at the World Tour Finals from December 11-15 in Hangzhou. According to the latest rankings, Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani (men’s doubles), Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah (women’s doubles), and mixed doubles pairs Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie and Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei have all secured their spots.
Notably, Sze Fei-Izzuddin, currently ranked third, have recently showcased their skill by winning several titles. Their impressive performances have positioned them for their Tour Finals debut. Meanwhile, Pearly-Thinaah, in fifth place, look forward to returning for their second Finals appearance after qualifying in 2022.
Additionally, Soon Huat-Shevon and Tang Jie-Ee Wei remain in contention. They have dropped one spot to third and fourth, respectively, but still stand strong after their impressive performances earlier in the year.
Furthermore, Malaysia has the potential to send two more representatives in men’s singles: Lee Zii Jia and the men’s doubles pair Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun. Zii Jia, currently in fifth place, needs to deliver solid performances in the upcoming tournaments to maintain his ranking. This is particularly important after he has recently recovered from an injury. Similarly, Wei Chong-Kai Wun, sitting in seventh place, must stay consistent to qualify for their first Finals.
